  • BBC Health - providing information on living with heart disease, personal stories and healthy recipes.

   

 

  • British Heart Foundation - a UK charitable organisation that funds research and hospital equipment. It also offers support, and information about local groups, both online and in other media.

 

  • Counselling Directory - this site enables those in distress to find a counsellor close to them and appropriate for their needs. This is a free, confidential service that will hopefully encourage those in distress to seek help. The
    website also contains a number of sections on emotional disorders (types of distress section) and provides some useful statistics.

 

  • DIPEX Heart Module - experiences of UK patients who have heart problems or high blood pressure in video, audio or text format. 

 

 

  • Eat well - a UK site offering detailed advice on healthy eating written by nutrition experts. 

 

  • HEART UK (Hyperlipidaemia Education And Research Trust) - dietary advice including lowering cholesterol to aid the prevention of heart disease.
